On arrival at Hobart airport, you will be transferred to your hotel and have the rest of the day free. Hobart, Australia’s second oldest city. It was originally settled in 1804 as a penal colony and enjoys a beautiful harbour setting and a burgeoning arts scene. There is an excellent choice of restaurants, cafes, pubs and markets, including the colourful Salamanca Market every Saturday.
Enjoy some free time this morning before an afternoon walking tour of Hobart, Immerse yourself in the captivating history of Hobart, Tasmania’s capital city, through our inspiring walking tour. Led by expert local guides, you will embark on a journey to explore the enchanting old town, gaining insights into the establishment and growth of this picturesque waterfront city.
During this day we explore convict history, sightseeing, amazing scenery and some great local specialties. The UNESCO World Heritage-listed Port Arthur Historic Site located 90 minutes’ drive from Hobart is Australia’s most intact and evocative convict site. With more than 30 historic buildings and ruins across the 100 acres of grounds Port Arthur brings Australia early convict history to life.
The Day is free to enjoy at Leisure, or you may be interested in joining another tour to Bruny Island or some Wine Tasting in the Huon Valley.
